Wear is She Wednesday: Rhiannon Simko

If fairies are real, Rhiannon Simko mostly certainly is one. She surrounds herself with pastel colors, dainty florals and breezy outfits, many of which she sews herself. Yet, even lovelier than her gorgeously curated instagram aesthetic, is her darling personality.
Rhiannon is, simply put, one of those girls who's beautiful inside and out. Keep reading for her thoughts on puffy sleeves, Connan Mockasin and her mom.
1. How would you describe your style?
I would describe my style as maybe like... modern prairie girl? or at least I'd like to be haha! It’s typically flowy, loose silhouettes. I love a good pair of loose fitting jeans, dresses with puffy sleeves and long skirts! I like to lean towards the more effortless and comfortable looks that I still feel confident and cute in!

2. Where are your favorite places to shop and why?
I buy a lot of Brandy Melville for their basics and dainty knit tees and tanks that I can’t seem to find anywhere else. I work at Urban Outfitters so I also do buy from there frequently as well.
But I try to shop as infrequently as possible in general, especially since my favorite stores are considered fast fashion. I try to stick to basics that I’ll never grow tired of. I also aim to make more of my own clothes as well! my mentality when I’m shopping is if I know I could make it myself, then I usually can’t justify buying it!
3. How did you discover your personal style or are you still discovering it?
I think my style comes from seeing artwork, color palettes, fabric, movies and outfits online or in real life and I absorb it all and then implement it into my personal aesthetic!

4. Do you have any current favorites? (podcasts, books, songs, etc?)
In terms of music, I’ve been listening to an artist named Connan Mockasin a lot lately! I also have been recently been loving another artist called Pynkie! her album called “neoteny” is a hidden gem!
5. Aside from style, what other hobbies or interests do you have?
my main hobby and passion is sewing! I’m in college right now and I’m a fashion design major, but in my free time I’m still always sewing and working on designs or sketching! in general I love making things and being creative, I think it’s just what I’m meant to do on life! I think I got it from my mom, we’re both such busy bodies with all our projects we’re constantly starting!

6. And the bonus question I like to ask everyone before they go: What’s something you’re really proud of right now?
I’m proud of the growth I’ve seen in my forms of artwork over the years and always resisting comparing myself to others! I feel like on my journey in my creative pursuits, since I first started a studio art class in high school, to now majoring in fashion design in college — it’s so easy to compare myself to my peers! but I’m really proud of myself that I don’t succumb to that feeling and instead focus on my craft and my own growth because it brings me fulfillment and happiness, not for success, validation, or to be the best by any means.

Where else can we find you, Rhiannon?
I do have a small Youtube channel but I haven’t posted in a minute because of school starting up again recently, but I plan to return to it soon! It’s just “Rhiannon rose”. I also frequently use Pinterest for inspiration and creating mood boards, my name there is just “Rhiannon Simko”!
